If these are the terms The Weather Chanel is using to explain a Canadian cold front heading South to it's viewers, this country is really getting fucking stupid. It is scary.

Getting busy on flash animation. (SL w/ Mocalotion)

This week at Common Folk our guest DJ's are European tec house DJ Nick Bean and Mochalotion. We met Mochalotion at the now famous or infamous Beyond Partydome house party about 2 months ago. Mochalotion guest DJ'ed with us and I was pleasantly surprised by the nerdy, white kid's urban selection of tunes.

Love from Pound For Pound
"Johnsville and Lucas Walters - hold it down as they do every first and third Saturday at the new spot near Union Pool. These dudes are picking up steam, so check them out now before they're like spinning during Interpol concerts or something."

So blogs are throwing parties these days, hu? (SL w/ Palms Out Sounds)
We love Palms out Sounds. This show is going to be awesome. Come out and play.
Palms Out Sounds is one of the best and most useful music blogs on the internet. They host a Remix Sunday where you can listen, buy, and download the best remixes they have found for the week. They also have a Sample Wednesday that provides original tracks that popular groups such as Missy Elliot, M.I.A. and my personal favorite Daft Punk have used. All of which you can listen to, buy and download from the site. They also post songs from new artists worth hearing as well as funny articles about New York City experiences. We were honored to be invited to spin at their Bloggers Delight invitational party.

Why Purple Crushes. (SL w/ Purple Crush)
I don't know if you've noticed or not, but Purple Crush is all over the place these days. This week has been full of new tracks and what feels like daily shows. They sure as hell are working hard and it is paying off. The recent remixes that are appearing all over the web proves that real beat junkies are taking notice. I felt the hard working vibes at last weeks Lolita Party at Glasslands, where we guest Dj-ed for the headliner. After a present surprise by opening act Lismore the place filled up to see Air Jared and Isla's dance moves.
But this post is not about stating the obvious about Purple Crush, but more so about demanding respect. Isla, right before starting the show, totally barked at an "underwelmingly" stiff crowd. She refused to play until people got off their asses, ended their conversations and got on the "motherfucking dance floor," to quote a pissed off vocalist. After a little hesitancy the place was jumping. I even got a little more of Isla than I bargained for.
Here's the flyer for the event.
Word on the street is there is a Curses! Purple Crush remix in the works.
