Run Shebeen is a friend of a friend of mine from in England. I found this song to be amazing first thing in the morning, especially in combination with an awful hangover and ice coffee. For a simple single shot video is a pretty attention grabbing , playful and fun.

Cornerstone Player

I did a photo shoot for a Cornerstone compilation CD. The next CD cover I shoot for will be my own. This is unless another gig comes before hand.

Blog on Blog!
Everyone has online addictions in one way or another. Before my ex-ex-girlfriend my online habits were myspace and free internet porn. Then she laced me with PerezHilton.com. This was way back when. He was nowhere as big as he currently is, but big enough that I would constantly see her checking his blog for updates. This made me curious. I contacted him and sent him some bangin' ass t-shirts.
He has repped hard.

Up All Night with Sweatshop Labor at Southpaw
We will now be booking a monthly party at Southpaw in park Slope Brooklyn. It is exciting step outside of our comfort zone. Southpaw is a 2 floor night club with a legit sound system and the grimey charm of a local dive. the upstairs is about the size of Luna Lounge or a little smaller than Studio B and the basement also known as "Down South" is a lounge with a similar vibe to that of 205. Upstairs we will be booking acts both upstairs and downstairs and here is what the first "Up All Night" party looks like. (We did not book this entire show.)
Getting to Southpaw is not difficult and is worth a short train ride. Up All Night is an 18+ event. Upstairs is $10, which you should happily pay to support the bands, 85% of the money goes to there pockets and downstairs is free.

Stupid Censorship
Respect an artist work, let the gun bust, cut the Midwest, middle age, god fearing, republican, narrow minded, Illuminati, mini van driving, corporate, pro life, Gap shopping, desperate house wife watching, flag waving, 911 obsessing, cute puppy having, juicy sweatpants wearing, soccer mom, housewife bullshit that is plaguing this country.
Is expression and creativity a slave to fear and censorship?

Cory's Spring Break and St. Patrick's Day.
what happened to this holiday? The streets are empty, the bars are barren and I've been in my living room all day. back in the good old days, we used to be up at 9am with a beer in our hand. Is it because it's a Monday? Do people have jobs? I'm not saying we should all be drunk before noon but I am saying that President's day is totally kicking st Patty's day's ass in the "coolest holiday" race. and, honestly, I don't know when President's day is or why it exists yet i welcome it with open arms into the holiday canon!
Day 5 of spring break: I only conversed with the Indian bodega clerk for 20 minutes today and I even managed to cook my dinner in advance! clearly things are becoming more lively for me. forget Cancun '08!
Anyone who doesn't work at a bodega want to hang out? I've run out of hobbies and I'm not mentally-prepared to start this jigsaw puzzle my grandmother sent me.

Hyphy Crunk Drunk
Cory wrote a great post a few weeks back about our many disappointing experiences in LA. Most of our frustrations were based around traveling difficulties, having the flu, the "underwhelming" weather, and essentially it not being New York City. Although I have to admit, there were a handful of times we had a flat out ball. The laughs and happy times usually came from a mix of tequila, beer, and the great people that booked us. Particularly our now good friend Mark Rodriguez.
Mark Rodriguez aka DJ Hyphy Crunk (and according to Cory aka Rattail Rodriguez) is responsible for The Heist party that bounces all over LA and the surrounding area. It is every Thursday and is a total beast of a party. Some have had over 800 RSVP's on Going.com and many more have been responsible for bathroom sex, days out of school and work, incredible hangovers, ear orgasms, orgasms, laughs, cries, and "asslessness" due to dancing it off. He makes crazy detailed myspace post about it including cool pictures and videos like the latest one below.
Well here is some unflattering but funny footage I shot of Mark and Lucas after our Heist gig.

Old Mad Takes Back The Streets
I found this video (below) on a disgusting website. It made me think. You have to realize all the viral voyeuristic porn that is being filmed everyday in the streets to feed sick mind like myself. Some innocent bystanders must just be fed up (especially in some Eastern European countries.) I mean, I've never witnessed porn being made. If you do see it being made it should be a choice that your sick mind makes. So when this old timer sees this misguided girl letting loose in front of his prized supermarket, (in the middle of the day!) for the 3rd time this week. He takes actions into his own feets.
The funny thing is that the old guy probably has a subscription to the same website they were filming for. But thats the way love goes.
Creepy.

Non Stop Party Week. March 11th - March 15th
I am pretty sure I am going to have a heart attack and die by Sunday. There is plenty of Sweatshop Labor going around NYC this week. We are pretty much DJing nonstop. I can guarantee you we will have different sounds for each night...
The Jawn on Tuesday is our first gig this week. It is ran by music snobs Jasmine Solano, Dj Kevy, and Iron Lyon. They are old school, work at recording studios and do spots on the radio. For this gig we will be busting out some music education. Show these music nerds that we hold our own when it comes to knowledge. I will probably be playing some rare Disco, French House, Freestyle and Hip Hop. Expect some freaky ass mixes with songs you would never expect to hear back to back.
Tuesday March 11th. 87 Ludlow NYC. Open Bar 10pm - 11pm
Wednesday we link up with our homie Dimitri for High Voltage. I don't have enough nice things to say about that asshole except that the word is his DJ sets have been nothing short of a world wonder. To my understanding, High Voltage has been like a hip hop basement party and we are surely game for that vibe. It is always pure fire when we link up. Come thorough.
Wednesday High Voltage at The Annex. March 12. 152 Orchard St, NYC. Free Zygo 10pm.
Thursday, we touch home base at Common Folk. Our guest DJ is Marcos aka Gringo Scarr. It will be like a riot meets a stampede meets a brothel. I am not even joking. Girls bring pepper spray guys stay home.
Thursday Common Folk. 131 Chrystie St. NYC. Free Shango Rum 10:30 - 11:30
Saturday we start a new 1st, 3rd and 5th Saturday party called "Up All Night" at Arrow Bar. We bought in Nick Hook to help us get shit started. Arrow Bar has all the ingredients to be a awesome dive. We met with management there at it was a breath of fresh air compared to the horrors we were dealing with elsewhere. the people in charge at Arrow Bar inherited the place and are excited to brand a great bar and not just make some money on top of money like some other establishments in the area. So be prepared to deal normal bouncers whose sole concern is safety and not intimidation. The bartenders appear to be real cool and are just as interested in having fun as they are on making money. I mean, it is Saturday night right? The vibe is positive and the sound is good. We are stoked on getting the basement bar jumping. Come along.
I painted this flyer tell me what you think. I will keep making them also, each one will be a new ghost/dream/nightmare theme.
Saturday Up All Night at Arrow Bar. 85 Ave A. NYC.

We will also be spinning at The Union Square Diesel store on Wednesday and Friday. Saturday during the day I plan on laying around my house questioning the decisions I have mad in my life. Sunday lets all go to brunch.

Vote 4 Claire
So it turns out my friend Claire is on America's Next Top Model. She is the only reason I would watch that show without having a girlfriend. Anyways, you can vote for her, being that it is reality television. I thought I try to help her out a bit and get some moneys to feed her beautiful child. Claire is also the shit because she wore a "I Heart Sweatshop Labor" tank top in the episode that was on last night.Tanks allot Claire! So...
VOTE FOR CLAIRE!

Scraps Weds. March 5rd and Common Folk Thurs. March 6th
You should come to our Scraps party at Lit and dance on Wednesday. It is at 93 Second Ave NYC. I drew this flyer. it is cool.
On Thursday you should come join us at our Common Folk party at Home Sweet Home. That is located at 131 Crystie St. NYC. We will be having a audio orgy with our guest DJ Iron Lyon. Lucas made this flyer. And yes it is a real photo, Lucas took it in Kenya during his church retreat in 2001.
Both parties will be fun, like the time you watched 2 girls and one cup. Chances are we are better DJ's than your friends who say they are DJ's. Last week at Scraps Lucas kicked a homeless man for fun and at Common Folk someone farted and cleared the dance floor. Awesome.
I am also happy to mention that this weeks events are for a special charity. We are raising money for our "Pay The Rent" foundation. All the money will go to our landlord, who is generous enough to give us a place to live.
Oh, and one more thing. You should watch this and pretend that it does not make you horny in the pants.

A Interview with DJ Nibc
This is totally a catch-up post, we have been busy lately. Anyway, apparently our little itty-bitty blog is getting a bunch of hits and has been responsible for some new DJ gigs for us. Totally awesome and thank you. Keep reading and we will make it worth your while.
Anyway, back to business,
If you recall a few months back we did a birthday party at Hugs for DJ Nibc that was a total fucking blast. Nibc is a sick DJ as well as his lovely lady Le Fleur of The Housewives. I posted the flayer below.
Mapei headlined the show and totally had the place jumping. Lucas snapped this amazing picture.
Since the gig I have stayed in contact with DJ Nibc mostly because he is a really cool dude and partly because I want to have my 25th Birthday in Berlin, where he is now living.
I recently spoke with DJ Nibc (Fredrick) about his experience in New York among other things.
Johnsville: Who is DJ Nibc?
J: Who has been your favorite DJ to work with?
Music wise, I'm probably most compatible with one of my homeboys from my clubs the Eye or Bagheera.. Internationally I think me and DJ Mehdi play a lot of similar stuff, a crossover between electro house and techno.
J: Tell me about your music?
J: If you had to pick a favorite track of yours what is it?
J: Tell me about Trunkfunk records?
J: What did you think about your birthday in NYC?
Who do you look up to and want to work with?
Who have you met that has made you star struck?
What was the last artist you bought/downloaded?
J: Whats your favorite food?
J: What can we expect from you in the future?
Below is a little footage I recorded at the birthday party. Fredrick's friends were nice enough to get him a 4 part birthday cake with each of the 4 pieces spelling Nibc. Needless to say the cake ended up all over the bar and peoples bodies.
